How does it work?

You install the SnapToCode Chrome extension, click to capture any region of any webpage, and SnapToCode sends the screenshot to Claude AI which writes the corresponding Tailwind CSS + HTML code. You copy-paste the result into your project.

Do I need an Anthropic API key?

Yes. SnapToCode uses your own Anthropic API key so you have full control of your costs and your data. Sign up free at console.anthropic.com — typical cost is around 1-3¢ per conversion.

Why bring your own key instead of charging a subscription?

Two reasons. First, it's cheaper for you — no middleman markup. Second, it keeps your data private — your screenshots go from your browser directly to Anthropic and back, never through our servers.

What does it actually cost to run?

First 5 conversions are free so you can try it before paying anything. After that, $19 once for SnapToCode (lifetime, 3 device activations), plus your Anthropic API usage at about 1-3¢ per conversion. So 100 conversions cost roughly $1-3 in API usage. No subscriptions, ever.

Will my screenshots be stored anywhere?

No. We don't have servers. Your screenshots travel from your browser directly to Anthropic's API and back — Anthropic's privacy policy applies. We never see them, can't store them, can't access them.

Does it support React, Vue, or plain CSS?

v1 outputs Tailwind CSS + HTML only. React/Vue/plain CSS support is on the roadmap for v1.1 if there's demand.

What if Anthropic changes their pricing?

You're billed by Anthropic directly, so any changes affect you the same way they affect anyone else using their API. As of 2026, conversions cost about 1-3¢ each — even a 10× price increase would still keep most users under $5/month in API costs.
